Terms of Use
The short version: Baqi is a notebook for your money. It records what you tell it, it tries to read your bank's messages accurately, and it is not a bank, an accountant or an adviser. Check the numbers before you rely on them.
These terms are an agreement between you and Budget Tracker ("we"). By creating an account you accept them.
What Baqi is
A private record of your spending, budgets and balances, kept on your devices and synced between them. It has no connection to any bank and moves no money. Nothing in the app is financial, investment or tax advice, and no figure it shows is a statement of your actual balance at any institution.
Your account
You need an account to sync. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at mousa.alwaraki@gmail.com if you think someone else has got into it. You must be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
Households
Inviting someone into your household gives them full read and write access to everything in it, past and present, until they leave or you remove them. Invite codes are single-use and expire after seven days, but anyone holding a live code can join, so send them carefully. If you are the last person to leave a household, its data is deleted.
Automatic entries can be wrong
Baqi can read transactions from bank notifications your phone already received, and can extract them from screenshots you choose. Both are best-effort: amounts, dates, merchants and currencies can be misread, and messages can be missed entirely. Every automatic entry is yours to check. We are not responsible for decisions made on an entry the app got wrong.
Prices and exchange rates
Exchange rates and investment prices come from third-party sources, are indicative only, and may be delayed, stale or unavailable. Do not use them to trade.
Using it properly
Do not use Baqi to break the law, to store someone else's financial records without their knowledge, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. Do not try to reach data belonging to a household you are not a member of.
Availability
The app keeps working offline, but syncing depends on services we do not control and may be interrupted, and features may change or be withdrawn. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to harm the service or other people, and will tell you why where we can.
Liability
Baqi is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for financial decisions you make using the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Qatar, and its courts have jurisdiction — without removing any protection you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when these terms change, and give notice in the app for anything material. Continuing to use Baqi after that means you accept the new version.
